I would like to apologize for my absence from blogging for a few weeks, we have had some what of a roller-coaster of a month and frankly, blogging was the last thing on my mind. My mother in law was diagnosed with Liver Cancer and had been in and out of the hospital. My husband and I went out of town and stayed with her while she was at the hospital on hospice for her last two weeks. She passed away July 27th. She was an Amazing woman, mother, nana, mother in law, sister, daughter, co worker, friend, etc. I had never met someone quite like her before. She was one of a kind. I know there are not many woman who can say they love and cherish their in laws, but I truly did. I am glad that I was close to her and that the time that I had with her, she was able to teach me so many things. Most things, she had no idea she was teaching! Her funeral fell on my birthday which was not that great, but I was asked to sing at her funeral, and that made my day in the sense that I know she was smiling down on me and it was such an honor and privilege to do it! We are slowly getting back into our routine and we are at peace knowing she is free from pain and we will see her again!
Poem I wrote about and for her
No one was like you, you stole many hearts, watching you fight this battle ripped us all apart. We wish you were still with us, but know your finally free, finally home with Jesus, just like you longed to be. Thank you for all the love, wisdom and memories you gave us through the years, for spoiling all the grand-babies, holding them in your arms so tight, and wiping away their tears. You imparted your kindness in each one of them from the very start, even the unborn babies the ones still yet to come, will get a piece of nana, cause your sons will be their daddies and it was you who molded and shaped their heart . And As we watch them grow and mature, living from day to day, we will see a glimpse of you through them, as they show their love and kindness to family, even to strangers along the way. We now take comfort in knowing, your mounted on eagles wings, no more pain and suffering, casting away all fears, knowing your in the arms of Jesus, where there are no more tears.
Rest in Peace Nana! We miss you ...
