This weekend, I had Lou, and tiny man Butter all to myself for 4 days! Daddy and Cowboy went hunting for the last time this season :( BOO! So Lou and I made the best of our time together- I, actually dug down deep within myself, and pulled out my inner "little girl" ! I played with dolls and got all crafty haha! Enjoyed spending time with my girl... Shes 11 and time is only going by faster these days! Here is what we did!

We made sushi for her dolls using:
Electrical tape
An old sock
Felt
Toothpicks
White foam paper
Scissors
Glue Gun

All we did was cut out 3 good size (sorry I am terrible about measuring !) rectangles using different colored felt, cut a rectangle out of an old White sock, and then wrapped it about the three rolled up pieces of felt , then wrapped with Electrical tape. Carefully cut off any felt hanging off each side of the sushi. Hot glue each piece on a square piece of white (or whatever color you prefer) foam paper to act as a plate - if you want you do not have to glue them, I wanted to because she has little brothers and I don't want to be stepping on sushi all over the house :) Then....

L.E. and Kori having some Hello Tokyo

 - cut a toothpick in half for chopsticks, and set up a dinning room- ours was made from an oatmeal box, covered with a black dish towel and piece of red foam paper- the little extras on the plate we just kinda took scraps from what we cut off  the sushi to make little side dishes for sushi and on one I used wood glue and a few dabs of black silver glitter to look like sauce :) The cups are miniature salt and pepper shakers with tops off filled with water and a tiny drop of food coloring- the tops from mini salt shakers are the dolls salt and pepper shakers in the middle of the table :) and two pieces of felt for pillows for dolls to sit on at table. And a blanket for back drop. Simple and cute :) we had so much fun- making
memories! I have also started making a fruit bowl for the dolls I will share soon! So be sure to followup :P

Corndog Muffins! Kids Lunch Idea

Whats for Lunch??

I don't know about you but I need new ideas for Lunch time for the kids ! Sandwiches are easy but get old fast ! I came across this idea on pinterest but the lady used a homemade corn muffin recipe, I know it was probably only a few ingredients, and I probably had them, but I just didn't have time to look! I needed quick and simple so.... I just used Jiffy and Turkey hot dogs.

Just follow the directions on the Jiffy box fill up your muffin cups about a little less than half way cut up about 4 hot dogs and sick them in the middle :) Put in oven for set amount on Jiffy box or I went a little longer ... cause mine were not quite done. Just test with a tooth pick....

This is what they looked like going in....

And about 25 minutes later =} Cute little Corn dog Muffins and Happy Kids!!

DIY- Pocket Chart Stand using PVC

Learning in Grace is on Facebook! Come on over and Click Like
http://www.facebook.com/LearningInGrace and let me know how you like our blog!

Ok... So I can not take full credit for this idea :( BUT! I am thrilled I came across it! I have 2 hanging pocket charts and little wall space in our little schoolhouse... and what wall space I do have, I would like to use for other things. So I found this idea on the blog In Lieu of Preschool . I had every intention to make this thing myself... but when I told my husband my plan... he laughed at the thought of me using a hack saw (which he didn't even use by the way). So being the Mr. Handy Man that he is...

*********Can I just pause for a minute to say what a blessing it is to be married to a true Genuine Handy Man, 100% Country Boy... who was raised old fashioned and was taught how to do things by actually DOING them! Not just that he can make an Easy PVC Chart Holder...Just in general he has such amazing abilities... God has truly blessed him with so many talents and skills but even more importantly....He was made for me :) THANK YOU JESUS!!**********

Ok enough of the Mushy Gushy... He ended up building it for me. Which it doesn't take much skill to do it obviously, if I was even THINKING of attempting it... its got to be easy. So that means YOU can do it!! Here is what you will need. The following measurements are made to fit the following charts: Standard Pocket Chart and Nylon Classroom Calendar Pocket Chart.

  Materials:

To hang it I just used some old shower curtain hooks.

We ended up cutting the height of it a bit just so the boys could reach it easier. You can also paint or glue yours. We did not glue ours because I like to have the option to take it down if I need more floor space. Here is a look at the other side of it as my daughter Lou does the days of the week in sign language.

I also made a felt board that easily hangs on top of the charts and I love that I can use it for that as well!  Here is a picture of the felt board in action. Cowboy is learning about the Days of Creation :)
